Dominican Gringo Academy

I've spent more than 20 years traveling back and forth to the Dominican Republic before I finally planted my flag and relocated permanently, and I've made just about every mistake a foreigner can make here, so you don't have to. Dominican Gringo Academy is where I turn two decades of on-the-ground experience into straightforward, practical courses for English-speaking foreigners who want to move, invest, or retire in the DR. This isn't brochure talk or a sales pitch from someone with a condo to sell. It's the stuff I wish someone had told me before I signed my first contract, picked my first neighborhood, or trusted my first "guy who knows a guy." What you'll learn here Real estate, done right. How foreign buyers protect themselves, from due diligence and title checks to working with lawyers and closing safely. Where to put your money. Honest comparisons of the North Coast, East Coast, and Santo Domingo, including what rental yields actually look like once the real costs come out. Living here for real. Cost of living, residency and visas, safety, and the everyday realities of expat life that the glossy videos skip. How the courses work Each course combines video lessons, slides, quizzes, and downloadable checklists and templates you can use in the real world. There's also an AI tutor that can answer your questions as you go, so you're never stuck guessing. Who it's for The Academy is for you if you're seriously thinking about the Dominican Republic and want to make smart decisions with your money and your life, not expensive ones. That's true whether you're buying your first property, comparing investment areas, or planning your retirement. You may know me from DominicanGringo.com or the YouTube channel. The Academy is where we go deeper. Welcome aboard. Let's get you here the smart way. — Anthony, the Dominican Gringo

My journey with the Dominican Republic started over two decades ago. What began as visits turned into a deep connection with the country, its people, and its culture. I didn't come as an investor or a retiree looking for the easiest option — I came because I fell in love with the place. Along the way, I married a Dominican woman, figured out how to open bank accounts in both USD and Dominican Pesos, obtained my RNC number (the Dominican tax ID that most foreigners don't know they need), purchased two apartments, and helped my wife navigate the U.S. visa process.
